Caroline Bolger Waterford Ireland Find Philip Cairns I would just like to send out thoughts and prayers to all the missing people, their families, relatives and friends, all over ireland and of course, the world. I recently set up a myspace page for Philip Cairns who has been missing since 1986, i do not know Philip or the family but for some reason I had/have often thought of him because we would of been around the same age at the time of his disappearance. If you would like to view the page you can find it at http://www.myspace.com/findphilipcairns . Also made the video which is on the page. Again my thoughts are with anyone and everyone who has lost someone. God bless! 30/04/2008 |

Claire Clarke-Keane Ireland To Judy Mahoney I think we all remember Annie McCarrick - so very sad that there is closure or finality for her family. My sister is also missing from Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow. You could try and contact the gardai in Bray to see if they would follow up on your concern. I believe that DNA was recently obtained from Annie's mother to keep on record.
We are far behind other countries in Ireland in regard to investigation into missing people and unidentified people also. We have no central database for our missing and no proper records of our unidentified people who were found over the years.

Donna Coughlan crosshaven co.cork I just read the message from Helen Carty from Cumbria in England, and i was delighted to see that people are still aware of the case of my missing brother Barry Coughlan Unfortunatly we have had no joy in tracing Barry,he will be missing 4 years on May 1,but like all close families we will never, ever give up looking for him,and it is this that helps us to get through ever day,no matter how hard it may be.When something like this happens it makes you realise how short life really is and how important family really is,the way i live my life has completely changed i try to think positive about the future, instead of thinking how long Barry has been missing ,i try to look at it as, that every day that passes is a day closer to finding him (please god).I would like to thank all the people like Helen Carty and Stuart Toman for their kind words, and willingness to help my family,we are forever grateful.Thank you. 21/04/2008 |

Gavin Feiritear Dublin Ireland Twisting The Wind I wish to express my deepest sympathies to the families and friends of those who have gone missing over the years. To them I wish courage, strength and hope.
I would like to share a song/poem that I have written about the loss of my aunt Eva Brennan. I finished it one night when memories of my aunt, who went missing when I was about 7 years old came flooding back to me, memories which I had forgotten until that point.
I had forgotten that Eva was a living and loving person from whom life and warmth emanated. These things had somehow escaped my memory from years of considering her with the enigma of a 'missing person' and the photographs we keep in my house (one of which is that on the missing.ws site). She was a real person.
I think it is in these memories that we carry the warmth of the people we have lost with us, if they brighten our days then surely they make us better people. I owe this to my aunt Eva.
Good luck and thanks to the people who run this site.
(if you would like to listen to it please click the link to the website above, the song is called 'Twisting The Wind') 13/04/2008 |
