Monica O'Mara Dalkey Co.Dublin Ireland I remember the night Trevor Deely went missing....cold, wet and stormy. He was/is around the same age as my friends and it, therefore allowed us to feel a peculiar association with the story.
Words will never express the sorrow any parent, family member or friend must feel when placed in such a doubt filled, numbing experience. I have never been exposed to such an unkindly situation and consider myself blessed. For in such an experience, I can not comprehend any 'missing person' family's daily strength and survival. My heart, words and prayers are for your vigour, so it will endure and be present in your every day. Please keep your admirable faith. Yours Sincerely, Monica 24/05/2005 |

Dorothy Ahearne Waterford Ireland I did not realise until I happened to hit on your website how many people are missing in Ireland, and how many family and friends are left distraugt. The prayers and the poems are comforting. I am lucky not to have to need to use this website, but would urge everyone to look in on this website on a regular basis. I hope some of you will find your loved ones. Our prayers are with you at this time.

Darragh Linehan Cork Cork Ireland I am totally ashamed that the dept of justice have ceased to fund the missing persons helpline. Politicians should understand the worry and feelings of people who have loved ones who go missing.I hope and will campaign that funding be reinstated. Regards.

Aimee Jones Dublin Hi, I watched a show on rte last night on the Kerry babies and i was extremely moved that a baby could wash up on the shore having been stabbed and the mother has never been found. I believe that not enough is being done in this country for the missing and also for john and jane doe's discovered. Ireland is a very small country, people have to know something. This website is an inspiration. Keep up the good work. 10/05/2005 |

Lucy Foley Copenhagen Denmark I was a friend of Reiltin Shanahan when we were teenagers in school. I recall Aengus when he was a tiny little fella with white blonde hair playing on the street sometimes, when we'd call over to the house.
The first I heard about him being missing was hearing his dad, who I remember well, on the radio, quite early on, probably in the first wave of the appeal. Then one afternoon I turned on the tv and saw Aquinas and James Brown, a man I remember from working in the Andrew's Lane Theatre, together talking about their missing relatives. It was a strange one. The heartache must be fierce. Love to you all.
I hear that government support has been withdrawn from the helpline, by the same ministry that offered the financial means to set it up. I find it extraordinary that this kind of thing can happen, can be justified, in this thriving Irish economy. Exactly what is it that's thriving here?
Good luck, and power to you in your search.
