My sincere condolences to the Holahan family. I had been following this story since I first read about it on the RTE online news updates and was so sickened to learn the outcome. How could someone be so cruel? My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I hope and pray that I never have to endure such a horrific tradegy.

I never thought i would cry so much for a child i never knew. This is such a terrible terrible tragedy. i think most people in this country have been touched by Roberts death over the last two weeks. I am a teacher of Junior Infants and the children in my class have been quite upset and disturbed by this. One child asked his Mum if he could go to the church to ask Baby Jesus to bring back Robert. Unfortunately the prayers of a nation were left unanswered.
My deepest sympathies go to the Holohan family. One thing is certain Robert will never be forgotten.

To Roberts Family, friends & school mates, to the residents of Midleton, the Gardaí, rescue teams and all those who travelled many miles to offer their time and involved themselves in the search for a child so innocent and dear; candles will be lit for your intentions in the churches of Athy.
For Robert, his parents Mark & Majella, and the entire Holohan family, the candles of Irelands Hearts will for ever burn for the grief, pain & suffering that has become onto you. This has been a most sorrowful time for the whole island of Ireland.

I would like to let the Holohan family that I am thinking of them at this very sad time. Hopefully they will find the courage and strength to come to terms with this dreadful happening in an carefree childs life. The family will never be the same. How can anyone commit such a crime. Lets hope they are swiftly brought to justice. I am sure relations and friends will help your family get through and eventually be able to find some peace.
